Sierra Nevada LCM Junior Olympic Results (7/18-21/2013)

Congratulations to FRAC for earning 1st place at the 2013 Gridley Gator Invitational!!!

On January 7, 2012, FRAC was represented by two swimmers at the 2010-2011 Sierra Nevada Swimming Awards Banquet. The banquet was held at the beautiful Arden Hills Resort Club in Sacramento. At this banquet, two of our very own FRAC swimmers were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the 2010-2011 season. Paige Dahlen, 8 & Under girls, was awarded 2nd place in the Sierra Nevada Top Three Long Course swimmers category. The basis for this selection was the tabulation of Paige's SNRT (Sierra Nevada Reportable Times), based on a scoring system of 5-4-3-2-1 points per placement in the end-of-the-year Top 5 listing. Basically, it means that Paige had quite the successful season! Paige earned her SNRT at the long course Junior Olympics meet this past July. She swam the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of 38.56 (SNRT) , claiming the 2nd place win. She also earned 2nd place in the 50 Meter Breaststroke, the 100 Meter Freestyle, and 50 Meter Fly. Coach Shelby is so proud, and cannot wait to see what the future has in store in Miss Dahlen. Arun Rai, 9-10 boys, received 3rd place honors for his participation in the IMX category. Arun swam in the 2011 Bear River IMX Meet and placed first in the 100 Yd Freestyle (1:09.76), 50 Yd Breaststroke (40..65), and the 50 Yd Fly (39.54).  The IMX Challenge is a USA Swimming motivational program whereby swimmers will be scored and ranked nationally on their performance in a combination of five or six events. The purpose of the program is to promote versatility in age group swimming while advocating greater participation and development across a range of events that are integral to long term success in swimming.  Arun continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the pool, and we are looking forward to what he brings to the competition this year.  Sierra Nevada Swimming includes the Sacramento Area, the Central Valley from Lodi north to the Oregon border, the northern Sierra Nevada, and much of Northern Nevada.  As you can see, this is a very large area.  It is very impressive that FRAC had two swimmers achieve recognition.  We are very excited about what this means for our team, and we hope that you will join us in congratulating Paige Dahlen and Arun Rai!!

FRAC Awards Banquet 2011

FRAC was honored by receiving the award of "MOST IMPROVED TEAM" for the 2010-2011 season. We are so excited to have earned this award out of all 26 teams that participated in this year's Junior Olympics Long Course Meet!

More than 670 Special Olympic athletes from 30 Northern California counties came together June 24-26, 2011, to participate in the 2011 Summer Games held at UC Davis. One of these athletes was our very own, Kindlelon Respicio! Kindlelon competed in the 50 Meter Freestyle, the 25 Meter Freestyle, and the 25 Meter Butterfly. He is a member of the Yuba-Sutter Special Olympics Team, but he represented FRAC by wearing his yellow team cap. Kindlelon has been a great leader for his team and is an encouraging and motivating individual! He medaled in all of his events and we are so very proud of him! Congratulations, Kindlelon!!
